British Legion Poppy Appeal: Art at the skatepark

After an in class discussion about how best to illustrate poppies, we all drew various ways depicting them and came up with some ideas about how to unify ideas and what we could do as a backup in case it is raining on the day.

I am still interested in using figures within the imagery; particularly replaced body parts with poppies, like the head.

I also think that using “poppy people”, as I will be calling them, will enable the imagery to fit in better with the surroundings and make it more relatable to younger people, which is the main reason for it being at the skateboard park.

During this time we also received a sample of the spray chalk that we would potentially be using on the day.

The colour was a lot more vibrant than I was anticipating it to be and sticks to wall immediately (without running). It also washes off skin easily and chalk and pastels can be used on top of it easily to add in little details.
